There’s a new force in South African mountain biking in the form of the 10-rider strong DCM Chrome team, which has been gathering momentum over the past few months but which is now officially complete. Burry Stander, South Africa’s most successful cross-country mountain bike racer ever, may have changed teams for 2009, but there’s one sponsor logo on his kit that remains unchanged – Mr Price.

Lynette Burger (DCM Chrome Toyota) gave a glimpse of her superb mid-summer form when she sprinted to victory at the Rio Casino City of Matlosana road cycling race in Klerksdorp on Sunday.
